What does leadership in Loudoun look like? For 26 high school students, it might be helping a stranger through a demanding ropes course or picking up trash along Catoctin Creek. Leadership through service is just one of the lessons teens will learn at Loudoun Leadership Youth from July 18-22.
Modeled after the successful year-long adult Leadership Loudoun course, Leadership Loudoun Youth is an experiential program designed to help teens become confident, knowledgeable, and contributing members of the Loudoun community. This second annual week-long program features lessons in Loudoun County history, geography and culture, while also introducing youth to local government leaders, local business professionals, and non-profit organizations. At the end of the week, teens will be encouraged to apply their newfound leadership skills in various community outreach efforts.
